Why did Waldo Trump?
Waldo is a fictional, blue character who constantly harasses and tests Mr. Monroe in the episode "Black Mirror". Trump is a candidate who uses satire as his rhetoric to engage others in what he has to say. It's funny how people only focus on the negativity of others and feed only off of nonsense. Could feeding off of nonsense be the nature of human beings?
Human beings, throughout history, are entertained by topics that are pointless and bring disorderly behavior. We are able to see this behavior both in Donald Trump's campaign and Waldo's as well. Donald Trump claimed that Muslims are terrorists and the media has brought out evidence that he is a rapist. There is a video of him using language that is condemning towards him and derogatory towards women. Why would we, who are patriotic and love our motherland that is the United States of the America, vote for such a candidate? His behavior is non-admirable and it has brought attention towards him whether positive or not, and unfortunately, he has become the United States president.
Waldo, in the same sense, was vulgar towards his opponent in the race for the presidency. The people in the film chose to be entertained by what Waldo had to say instead of choosing Mr. Monroe who was a candidate that was well qualified and valid for the presidency.
