Reflections on "Waldo"

The episode of Black Mirror that was titled "Waldo" is very similar to the presidential election that we just had. At first, Waldo was just a cartoon character that made fun of Liam and politics in general. Waldo ends up being asked to join the election. Which this seems very funny and just crazy in the episode. The scary thing is, when you think about it, this episode and our presidential election is very similar. Trump like Waldo come seemingly out of no where. Neither one of them have little to no political backgrounds, and stand for nothing. Another thing is that Trump and Waldo both harp on the other candidate or candidates that they are against. We can also see Hilary and Liam being similar characters because at first in the episode Liam does not make a big scene or stand up to Waldo he just lets Waldo mock him, but later on in the episode Liam gets back at Waldo and stands up for himself. Which is what Hillary did at first in the election her big saying was "When they go low, we go high." As the election got towards the end Hillary started to say things to get back at Trump. It is really crazy how in the end of the episode Waldo, a cartoon character, ends up making it into office and becoming a world power. Trump who resembles a cartoon character ends up making it into the office and becoming president of the United States.
